Pakistan to hold cultural week in Iran in near future

Pakistan is to hold a cultural week in Tehran in the near future, Pakistan's Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage (NHLH) Irfan Siddiqui has said.

Siddiqui also noted that he has already formed a working team to start the preparations for the cultural week.

He said that Iran and Pakistan have friendly relationships because of Islamic unity and having joint borders.

He said “We have history of common heritage, common literature, common culture and common civilization.”

The Pakistani official also said Pakistan and Iran signed cultural agreement in 2014 and have racently extended it for three years.

He said that Iran and Pakistan agreed to explore the possibility of having a big cultural exhibition in Tehran or any other Iranian city in the near future.

Making the mutual decision during a meeting with Iranian Cultural Counselor Shahabuddin Daraei two weeks ago, both sides agreed to exchange books and stablish bureau of translation to translate Persian books into Urdu and Urdu books into Persian.

Siddiqui went on to say that they may have teachers and intellectuals exchange visits.

“So we are discussing so many things and I think the coming year will see that the friendly relations between Iran and Pakistan will show new experiences and new ventures which we are going to undertake,” he wrapped up.
